Dr. Consolata Chua is a Lecturer in Education and Management from the Department of Educational Foundations Management and Lifelong Learning at Dar es Salaam University College of Education (DUCE). She has a PhD in the area of Educational Management and M.A Education from the University of Dar es Salaam while her B.A. (Education) is from the the Open University of Tanzania (OUT).

Her main areas of research interest and teaching include issues of Educational management particularly in areas of quality assurance, leadership, teacher professional development and gender in education. She is one of the pioneers of the Gender Awareness Transformation through Education (GATE) Project at DUCE of which she is also a member of the Project Team. She has also coordinated the DUCE Team in a national research project on Out of School Children Study (OOSC), commissioned by UNICEF and the Ministry of Education, which contributed to the Country report on the same.

She has vast experience in facilitating Professional Development Trainings to In-service teachers as a national facilitator for the British Council’s Connecting Classrooms program and has also been engaged in facilitation of training on pedagogy for Lecturers in Higher Learning Institutions in Tanzania offered by the Faculty of Education at DUCE. Consolata has also vast experience in leadership roles as Head of the department and later as the Dean of the Faculty of Education at DUCE until 2018.
